Operator enhances chemical treatment program through monitoring

Challenge 

A Northeast-based operator managing approximately 3,800 wells across Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio encountered significant challenges with their existing chemical provider. Specifically, the provider struggled to consistently maintain full injection tanks during continuous and batch treatment operations. The operator sought an alternative provider to improve the chemical management program and address other sampling challenges.

Each well in the field needed to be sampled annually, approximately 300 samples per month. The operator cited organizational challenges with the sample collection and analysis. Additional challenges included delays with scheduling and executing batch treatments.

Solution 

Halliburton proposed the APX™ digital platform to improve the operator’s chemical inventory management and streamline field operations. The APX platform helps increase efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve overall productivity. It empowers customers to make data-driven decisions, optimize resource allocation, and achieve greater success with their chemical management processes. Additionally, the platform enhances Halliburton’s ability to manage chemical deliveries and route planning efficiently.

Halliburton suggested a monthly inventory of all injection tanks with the data input into the APX digital platform for real-time visibility and management. In addition, every sample moving forward would immediately be available after processing through the laboratory.

Result

The implementation of the platform led to significant improvements in internal efficiency and chemical treatment program management. By leveraging the platform’s data and interpretation features, the operator achieved enhanced asset protection and transparency to their chemical management program. Specifically, the operator captured injection tank inventory remotely and was able to streamline data storage within the APX digital platform.
